EAST RATTLESNAKE: 11/5/17

On a chilly gray morning Carol and I got out for a hike up East Rattlesnake by Squam Lake, grabbing two geocaches along the way.

We passed this beaver pond along the quiet, attractive Col Trail. Mt. Morgan in the Squam Range is seen in the distance.

Trail sign at the intersection in the col between the Rattlesnakes. These trails are well-maintained by the Squam Lakes Association.

Ascending the Ridge Trail towards the East Rattlesnake viewpoint. These trails sustained very little damage from the recent storm. Brought the saw but just ended up tossing a number of branches off the trail.

A group takes in the Squam Lake view from East Rattlesnake.

Red Hill, with lots of subtle late oak color.

Taking in the view on a classic gray, raw November day. No more golden October sunshine!
