The Scaur: 2/11/21

Got to do some trail breaking on an afternoon snowshoe jaunt up the Kettles Path in Waterville Valley.

Interpretive sign along the Livermore Trail, prepared by Waterville resident Charles Hastings.

Kettles Path hadn't been traveled for a few days. Broke out anywhere from 4 to 10 inches of recent snow.

Landmark white ash near the base of The Scaur.

Approaching the final steep climb.

There's the sign.

The somewhat tricky ledgy slot at the very top.

Fuzzy view out to Sandwich Dome.

Osceola emerging. Looked cold up there.

Middle & South Tripyramid.

Tecumseh.

Two feet of soft snow in the woods. Tough going off-trail right now.

Electric blue.

Great snowshoeing.

    1. It was, though a little under the weather after the first Covid vaccine shot the previous afternoon.
