Beautiful open hardwoods behind Beaver Pond.
An interesting boulder with a vein of intrusive rock cutting across its face.
Snowshoeing across frozen Beaver Pond on a windless afternoon.
Looking up into the steep Beaver Brook drainage, with the crest of Mt. Blue peeking out above.
A bushwhack to the ledges on this shoulder reveals a striking view over the pond and down through the notch.
Looking back at a fire scar on the southernmost flank of Kinsman Ridge.
View of the Dilly Cliffs from Rt. 112 while walking down the road to start a bushwhack across from the entrance to Lost River Gorge.
Snowshoeing up a century-old logging road.
A rare patch of blue sky.
Plenty o' snow in here.
Yup.
Arriving at the base of what I call the Waternomee Waterslide - a long swath of ledge on a brook that flows off the north side of Mt. Waternomee. Backcountry skiers had recently carved turns down the snowy corridor.
Climbing through a scene of wintry beauty.
Nearing the top.
Looking back to the Dilly Cliffs and the south end of Kinsman Ridge.
Close-up of the cliffs, scarred by a fire in 2017.
Descending through open woods.
