The photos below show views from around the summit area of Hedgehog Mountain after a day of blowdown clearing and drainage cleaning on the west loop of the UNH Trail. I adopted this trail through a cooperative program of the AMC and the Saco Ranger District. There are still numerous Saco District trails needing adopters; for info contact Cristin Bailey at 603-447-5448 or cristinbailey@fs.fed.us. Adopters take on the basic maintenance responsibilities for their trail: the aforementioned blowdown removal and drainage cleaning, plus brushing and blazing.
This 2532-ft. peak on the north side of the Sandwich Range is one of the best half-day hikes (4.8 mile loop, 1450-ft. elevation gain) in the Whites, with views from three different ledgy areas along the way.

Nanamocomuck Peak, a SE spur of Mt. Passaconaway, with its north-facing slide displayed. The Square Ledge Trail passes along the base of the slide; a short scramble up opens a great view north.
