I've got 4 sweet good adolescent boys looking to camp for a few days. This area has been recommended, but we are trying to be sure that our info is correct about legality and appropriateness. This was after doing the Hancocks on Saturday and Tripyramid on Sunday - a fantastic weekend of hiking. You're right; East Pond is a beautiful place. And one of the most peaceful places I've seen. I was hoping to see a moose, but no such luck. And I didn't have time to do the loop to Little East Pond, so I'll have to go back another time.BCnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3814464431995035927.post-23778188686027214552012-05-19T10:51:25.549-04:002012-05-19T10:51:25.549-04:00Thanks, BC. It's definitely worth poking around the old mill site by the Little East Pond Trail junction.

SteveSteve Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16403760631302934834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3814464431995035927.post-92003067377420448522012-05-19T09:23:17.809-04:002012-05-19T09:23:17.809-04:00Nice writeup, Steve. I've always thought it would be a nice hike, and your pictures and description confirm it. We are going to be in the area next weekend, and we might do it then. I also love the little nuggets of history that you insert into the trip report. I always wondered why it was called Tripoli Road. The URL that you provided is fascinating.BCnoreply@blogger.com
