Keith went up the Cedar slide though. We talked to Mike yesterday at the Jefferson post card show and he told us you guys went up the slide to NW. He also told us about the guy he interviewed who used to work up there. That was a fun whack. Keep these great stories coming!
John & JuneJohn Gutowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13662830569171676640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3814464431995035927.post-35545715684097242922009-08-16T20:04:45.205-04:002009-08-16T20:04:45.205-04:00John/1HH,

Mike Dickerman and a couple other friends and I went up there in '95. There was a wash basin and some other stuff left over from the firetower days. We also went down to some cliffs on the NE ridge that had a striking view into the Crystal Brook basin. Mike once interviewed a guy from Littleton (I think) who worked in that tower.

SteveSteve Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16403760631302934834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3814464431995035927.post-9078167321396767562009-08-16T18:05:07.455-04:002009-08-16T18:05:07.455-04:00Wow Steve! Something like “amazing” just seems to miss the mark, and be such an understatement. But anyway, I’m delighted to read that you had such a wonderful hike, and excellent weather for viewing. Plus, you were able to meet up with Garth, and then Cath. Oh! And let’s not forget that you also were able to spend some quality time with the Chamberlains.

You were once again able to cram a lot of good stuff into a one-day hike. OK, I have to use the word “amazing”!

John
1HappyHiker1HappyHikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02242409292439585691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3814464431995035927.post-18149233235552441022009-08-16T13:11:16.784-04:002009-08-16T13:11:16.784-04:00Steve,

That peak must have had tremendous views back in the days when it had the firetower (even though people were pretty much banned from the woods in that firetower era).
Good story Steve. Thanks.
John & JuneJohn Gutowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13662830569171676640noreply@blogger.com
