As usual when I read one of your reports, I learn something new. Although I've been up to Dickey several times, I've never seen the stone circle, nor did I know of its existence. Now I have to go back up and see it (not that that's a bad thing).BCnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3814464431995035927.post-19969048928940159772012-12-14T19:06:54.402-05:002012-12-14T19:06:54.402-05:00Steve,

It seems to be mostly a matter of awareness, or lack thereof.

SteveSteve Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16403760631302934834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3814464431995035927.post-91292867027256226872012-12-14T19:03:07.200-05:002012-12-14T19:03:07.200-05:00Thank you!

Steve, I wish that everyone who hikes in the Whites understood the what and why of your statement. Near Lakes of the Clouds this summer my brother and I saw groups of teens AND adult leaders trampling all over the delicate grasses in the area. Nobody had a clue. Heck, I've even been above treeline with friends who are unconscious about how to behave in those spots. Very frustrating.Steve K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13788158918508099291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3814464431995035927.post-38747286212358267712012-12-13T09:03:59.125-05:002012-12-13T09:03:59.125-05:00This is a great hike.
